Who We Are..
NWEC is a private Zambian company licensed by the Energy Regulation Board (“ERB”) to engage in the distribution and supply of electricity. The Company was incorporated in 2007 as a special purpose vehicle (“SPV”) to Build Own and Operate (“ BOO”) electricity distribution and supply infrastructure that provide electricity to the residential mining townships in Lumwana Mine township initially and extended to Kabitaka and Kalumbila townships.
The principal activity of the company is to construct, operate and manage distribution of electricity in the mine townships in Solwezi, Lumwana, Kalumbila of North-Western Province.

Our core focus is to provide decentralised and interconnected electricity solutions that address the needs of our customers and those of the environment. We aim to lead Zambia’s shift towards innovative technology by designing, building, and managing a reliable power distribution through working with customers, companies and across communities.
